Good Morning! I have a little freebie here for you, for participating in my Challenge! You don't have to use the mini, but you can. This is my Ingredients Challenge, and it is only one of several challenges that you can play in at Ivy Scraps. All of the challenges have a prize, and some have freebies for doing the challenge, so it is a great way to finish up pages and snag some goodies to add to your stash!
Here is my layout that I did for the Ingredients Challenge-it is a photo of Chyna, our Pekingese (who is no longer with us). She was a cute little dog, but she had a vile temper-not always friendly to the other 2 dogs! She became very sick last fall, and the vet was unable to save her...it was very sad!
Also at Ivy Scraps, we have our DECEMBER GRAB BAG for $3.00. This special price is only good until the Reveal on December 15th. I can't tell you exactly what's in the Grab Bag, but I can tell you that there are over 60 paper, over 50 elements, an Alpha, some PhotoShop Styles and some CU overlays. This is not to be missed!

Hellloooooo--
I know, it's been a while. I was so busy with the Ivy Scraps Grand Opening, that everything else fell by the wayside-lol!
Now that we have a site blog, www.ivyscraps.blogspot.com, maybe I can use this blog to ramble on a bit!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner early at SIL's house. She always puts me to shame with her beautiful table and wonderful cooking. She has matching place-setting for 18 people! I'm lucky to have 6. I ate way too much, so much that my tummers was in agony for the 3 hour trip back home.
Isabella had her teeth cleaned yesterday. She is my toy poodle, and my sanity! She's still a little grumpy about the whole thing, but her breath is vastly improved, lol!
This week at Ivy Scraps, I have my Meditations kit on sale for $.99. Such a deal!! Also, the 12 page 4" x 6" brag book made from the November Mega Kit is in the store for 2.99. You can get it free, though, for participating in 3 Challenges at Ivy Scraps through the end of November! And, if that weren't enough, the November Mega Kit is free with any $3.00 purchase. That is huge!!
We're all working on our December Mega Kit, and it is BEAUTIFUL! You'll have the chance to buy it, sight unseen for the first 2 weeks in December for only $3.00. After that, it will go to $4.99. Believe me, it's definitely worth $9.99!!

To get it, you will need to participate in two activities. The first is a Progressive Scrap. On Monday, Nov. 9, I'll give away a couple of pieces of the Mega-Kit. You use them to begin a layout. Come back on Tuesday for more pieces, and use those to build upon your layout. By the end of the week, you'll have a mini-kit's worth of the Mega-Kit, and a great layout!
To get the rest of the Mega-Kit, we'll have a daily Scavenger Hunt.
Every day, From Nov 9 through the 22nd, a new mini-kit will appear in the store with a price of $.50. You can buy it, but if you go through the forum carefully, you'll find a coupon code good for one day to get the mini-kit for free! Well, Guess What?!? I finally decided to take the plunge and open my own Digital Scrapbooking Website, with a few extras, like Quilting, gifts and a place for teachers. I'm so excited, because with me in this venture is a very good cyber-friend, and not only is she going to be selling her kits, but she's going to be hosting a Heritage Challenge (and maybe a chat if I can figure that part out). I'm not going to tell you who she is, but I can tell you that she has her own geneology website and is obsessed with this branch of scrapping. I know you're curious, but the announcement will just have to wait a bit longer...
Anyway, My hubby Doug and son, Mike have been monumentally instrumental in making this dream into a reality. And let me tell you, this is worse than hanging wallpaper together! But, there are just a few links to clean up, and the process of getting the extras loaded.
As you can see, we're having a Designer Call, and a CT Call, and if there are any crafters who would like to sell on the site, let me know (as long as you live in the contiguous 48 states for shipping purposes).
That's it for now!!

Another kit, another Freebie!!
Hi, everyone!
Doug and I returned from Colorado on Saturday night, and we're almost back into the groove of reality! The Rocky Mountains are spectacular! The weather was great, and we had a great time.
Doug attended a conference on Biochar, and I hung out and did some designing. The conference was all that Doug had hoped that it would be, and he learned a lot. The ideas are busting out at the seams of his brain!!
I have this new little kit that I wanted to share-it's called Sugar-n-Spice and is great for your girly-girl photos (or even photos of very confident, macho men-lol). This kit is on sale at my stores for 35% off until the end of August.
This Paper Pack, which coordinates beautifully is free for one week only at my stores.
I hope that you enjoy this little gift, and would love for you to leave some love!
To snag the kit and the freebie, click on my store blinkies on the left. :)

August already!
Here in Wisconisn, we're having beautiful spring weather. Yup, spring weather. Not enough heat for the peppers or tomatoes, or to jump in the pool. Just lovely spring weather. I don't think it has been over 80 degrees for more than a handful of days. And very little rain. The poor corn crops are all dried and spikey.
My daughter and I took a wonderful Mother/Daughter long weekend mini-vacation. We drove to Galena, IL and shopped in all of the girly shops, had pedicures and went to the Field of Dreams. It was so fun and relaxing. I love that my daughter and I are close and that we have become friends.
I have a new, fun mini kit in my stores...It is called Doodals, and I just love it. It is only $1.99, and is 35% off for the month of August. Doodals Mini Kit contains 4 textured papers, 4 painted flower doodles, 3 glitter flowers and one glitter leaf and a jewel for the flower centers. Here it is. You can snag this kit at Sum Scrapper or at
Scraps with a Mouse for only $1.29!!
Of course, I made a freebie for you from the kit :)
And here is the link for it at Sum Scrapper. I sure hope that you enjoy using it. And please leave some love.
Now, onto another subject! I'm in need of a finch therapist!
We have a goldfinch that has made it his mission to get into the house. So he constantly flies up to the window in the sunspace and bangs on it. We taped up magazine pages to deter him, (and what a lovely look that is, too), but it hasn't worked. We have a birdbath, gazing ball and bird feeder for him, but all he loves to do is bang on the window and kiss his reflection in the gazing ball.
Like I said, we need a finch therapist for him!

Happy Thursday!
I wanted to show you a page that I made with my Beneath the Sky kit...
This is Michael, my son, setting up his tent. I was in the dry comfort of our pop-up camper (vintage orange and brown 70's style), while he set up his tent during a sudden drizzle. Thankfully, it was the only rain of the weekend. We had 5 campsites for the entire family--all of the Uncles, Aunts and cousins. I have a lot more photos to scrap, but it'll be easy with this kit! I just love it-and yes, I know I may be a bit biased! :)
I do have another Digi-Scrapping Freebie for you, and I will get to that in a moment. But first, let me show you Summer Blush that is in my stores now. And, it's on sale for 35% off!!
I also have a set of matching QP's in my stores...I just love them, and although they are not on sale, they are a great price-4 for $2.99! Here is a peek..
They have plenty of room for journaling, and can be resized to an 8" square for printing at home.
Be sure to click on one of my store blinkies at the left to snag these! Or go to
Scraps with a Mouse or Sum Scrapper
Ok, without any further delay, here is the Freebie that I promised:
I think it is such a sweet page, and perfect for any type of photo, and there's room on the plaque for journaling. Sometimes I think that as Digital Scrappers, we lose sight of the journaling, but it is so important! All of those little things that you're sure you'll remember...guess what? They do slip away and are forgotten. So please try to remember to add more to your layouts than photos and elements...keep those memories fresh with journaled reminders!
Enough of the lectures! You can either go to Sum Scrapper for the freebie, or you can download it
here. Please leave some love!
Oh, and Scraps with a Mouse will be having their grand opening in August, and we have tons of fun planned, so make sure to keep checking in!

Wow, the contest at Designs in Digital is complete! And here is my final exam--the elements to my paper pack from last week. I've been working so hard on this, that I neglected to update my blog...the kind folks at Designs in Digital and Just Digi Layouts, have provided a coupon code for the papers...buy 2 packs (each has 20 papers, priced at $2.00 per pack), and receive a third pack free! Wow! That's 60 papers for $4.00. What a crazy good deal. To get it, just follow this link, and enter the coupon code NDIDDS-B2G1. Enter the code before you get to Paypal. Now here is the link. Tomorrow I'll be back with another coupon code for the Elements!
Friday, May 29, 2009
Hello again! This is my latest for the NDIDDS competition over at Designs in Digital. This is the first half of a complete kit: The elements will be available next week. Ok, now here's the deal...
you get 20 gorgeous papers for the low price of $2.00! What is that, a dime apiece? What??? What a great bargain, because, unlike paper scrapping, once you buy a paper, you will have it forever, to be used as many times as your little heart desires!
Doug and I celebrated our 32nd Anniversary this week, so I decided to create a kit for Romance. So, when the kids were home last weekend, I asked them to just say whatever comes to mind when they think of Romance...Sunsets, Beaches, Hearts, Rainbows, Gold...and guess what?!? They are all in this paper pack. Plus the sexy dark colors of red, black, purple and gold. Plus some glitzy glitter, frilly scrolls and more. Next week, the elements will be available, and I have some nice ones planned--some for fun and some for those more serious moments.
I know, you're wondering what kind of photos to use...let's see...prom, honeymoon, anniversary, smoochie-smoochie pics, special date photos.
Everybody does lots of children's kits, and since my children are all grown, and I have no grandchildren (yet, come-on, Bronwyn!), I decided to concentrate on an adult theme (but no smut-lol!).
I sure hope you enjoy using these papers-and that you will come back next week to see the coordinating elements!
Until then, Happy days!!

Another New Freebie!!
Isn't this adorable??? And it's FREE! Gotta love that price! Ok, I'm a bit of a knitter-I've made some socks and a couple of very easy sweaters, and I definitely make some great dishcloths! My hubby and I took a yarn spinning class (it is good to decompress from stress), and I have always loved sheep. Now you see how this kit came about. This is my third week entry in the NDIDDS competition at Designs In Digital, and all they gave us was a color scheme and element and paper count. The rest was up to us. I love texture, so some of my papers are made using overlays that I made from my projects, and the yarn basket is full of yarns from recent and future projects. The sheep butt is one that I made years ago--well over 20 years ago, in fact, for my business cards, and the sheep are just randomly inspired by my collection. The wool felted flower is a variation of one given to me by my friend, and the spinning wheel is one that we had commissioned by a wonderful little old man in Door County.
Ok, you say that you don't knit, crochet or spin?? hmmm, this is also great for baby photos, caught on film cat nap photos, and petting zoo photos. There are tons of uses for this kit, so hurry those fingers along this link to snag your free Yarn Over kit now!
Next week, be sure to come back for the new assignment--a pack of 20 papers!! Then the following week will be a coordinating package of embellishments. All for the unbelieveably low price of FREE! Until then, remember, you can't always believe everything that you think!

a Brand New Freebie!!
Sassy word art, eh? I love it!! This is my Week 2 submission for the NDIDDS contest at Designs in Digital. The theme was Girlfriends, and since I adore the color purple, I had to use lots of it! And a bit of pink for the girls-lol! To snag this kit, follow this link: link expired. sorry!
Life while participating in this contest has become quite frantic! It probably would be ok if the rest of life didn't sort of crash down...things like going to the dentist for a crown, driving around the state for job interviews, Mother's Day, Birthdays, Doctor Appointments, Wedding Showers, and work. Ah, well, When it rains, It Pours, I guess. But, I love this contest! I am learning so much and having such a fun time with the ladies at Designs in Digital that it is worth it! The next part of the contest is to create a kit choosing one of two color schemes. The theme is up to us. Hmm, my thinking cap is on, but the it seems to be malfunctioning at the moment. But I do know this...Make sure to come back next week for another Free Digital Scrapbooking kit!! Until then, keep your face to the sun!

Whoo Hooo!! That, right up there, is my warm-up exercise for the NDIDDS at Designs in Digital!! I still need to figure out a few things, but what I do know is the kit is FREE for the next 7 days!! (this is no longer available :( ), and make sure you check back often because there will be links for free kits for a while!!
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a fuss-budget. That means that every item in this kit is created digitally from scratch, with no extracting or CU products. I love tiny detail work, and this is right up my alley! I sure hope you enjoy this kit.
Another Bit of Big News is that I am hosting the Word Art Challenge at Digi Town Square! Beginning on the first of May, I will offer 2 challenges per month. Read about them here.
Oh, and keep checking in because I have lots more fun stuff coming up--freebies, news, and who knows what else!
Until Next time-

Today I have the day off from work, so I'm working on a bunch of Digi-Scrapping commitments.
One of those is the Gotta Orchard progressive scrap, where you are given a couple of rules, and once you commit them to your layout, you can't change them when the next set of rules come out the following week. The challenge is over now, but it was a lot of fun, and of course I scrapped my most favorite subject, Isabella--here is my layout:
Yesterday was an interesting day! I had to teach a class at JoAnn Fabric on making a strip pieced pillow, and due to my previous week screw up, I knew I was only going to have one student. Half an hour into the class, here come 2 ladies for an applique class. Oh dear, the education person at the store told me that she was cancelling the class, but never bothered to officially cancel it, so I ended up teaching 2 entirely different classes at the same time! Of course, since I didn't know I was teaching the applique class, I was completely unprepared. It was super interesting, because the first student was not a quilter, and needed a lot of supervision. But all 3 of the women were gracious about the mix-up, and somehow I managed to teach both topics. Not as thoroughly as I would have liked, but I think it went ok. Once I got home, though, the wine box was tapped!

Ugh
Once again, Time has just whizzed right on by me. That's because I'm so into digital scrapbooking now, and my life is pretty much wrapped around it. I'm on two creative teams, and I'm involved in several websites. I've also signed up for 2 different designer activities, but they don't start until May 1st.
So, what is going on? I've been creating some fun templates and word art. Now I just have to figure out how the heck to use one of the file sharing programs to make them available for downloading. And I'd sure as heck better figure it out quickly, because I hear tell a rumor of a blog train coming through, and this will be one of the stops!
I promise to be much better with the blogging. If only I didn't have to work...it does tend to get in the way of life, doesn't it?
But for right now, here is a layout that I made with a new kit by Fairytale Studios, available at Digital Candy, called The Way I Are.
This kit is so cool because it isn't a kit that you immediately look for baby photos to scrap with.
This layout, by the way, is of my daughter, Bronwyn and her hubby, Al, and their 2 dogs, Barney and Loki.
And now, for a totally different type of layout with the same kit, here is one of the gal I work with:
I love this page because it is both fun and sophisticated...
Well, that is it for now, but I WILL be back withing a day or two to keep updating.
Until then, keep taking pictures!
