Boy, is it cold out! The wind chill is -25 degrees, and it isn't supposed to get warmer until Tuesday. Maybe that's why I wanted to make a nice colorful, springy layout. I used a free kit from Krystal Hartley to make this layout.
This is a photo of me, Doug and our 2 kids that was taken last May.

I'm also working on a badge book. I hope to have that posted in the next few days. In the meantime, stay warm! Our little fireplace has been working up a storm this winter...thank goodness!

Hello, Again!
Here's a layout I made of my daughter's 30 month photo. She's wearing her grandfather's "dress", which she wore for her Baptism. She also wore his hand made cap, but not for the photo. This is made using a kit by Ashalee Wall for Scrap Orchard, called "Pretty in Pink".

I'm on the Creative Team for Ashalee, and that has been a lot of fun! I'll be posting my layouts here, as well as on Scrap Orchard. To see all of Ashalee's kits, visit her store by clicking Here.

Well, I'd better get dinner on the table, so I'll be back later!

A new day, a new era. I did not get to watch the inauguration of our 44th President because I was working, but from what I saw on the News last night, it seems as though I missed an historic occasion. I am excited to see what changes President Obama brings, and I wish him the best. Whether or not I voted for him is irrelevant. He is our leader and our face to the world, and he deserves our loyalty and good wishes. I truly hope that the nation is completely behind him.

Politics is not my cup of tea. I don't like to discuss politics or religion, because it is an exercise in futility. Either you will agree or disagree but you will almost never change someone's mind.

Crafting, however, is another story! That is my passion and has been since I was little. I love creating things, and putzy details. I love making things for my family and friends. With quilting, when I'm asked if I sell my products, I usually respond that I only make quilts for those to whom I've given birth, or who have given birth to me. Lately I've been known to give a quilt as a wedding present to friends.

Scrapbooking is another creative outlet for me. I love to go through the photos again and again, and to figure out the best way to enhance them on a page. I started with paper scrapping, and now I am mostly a digital scrapper. Since I have so much as far as paper supplies go, I love to combine the two with hybrid scrapping.

That is what this blog will be mainly about--quilting and scrapping, with a bit of musing on the side.
